they say that pink is a soothing color

  3. kodasophia says:

you could paint it a warm color like light-ish orange or yellow and orange

  4. soren says:

light colors… nothing too bright though… like maybe a shade of baby blue…… not alot of things on the walls or anything…. and not a lot in the room.. maybe just a bed…or a couch ( depending on what room it is ) and add some soft lights….

  5. beatlegal says:

    white flowers

  6. CantHoldBack says:

soft and sensual colors. maybe browns or even deep purple

  7. arielkao520 says:

well for starters….you should be a pale…whatever color you like…because dark is too traumatic, dramatic and violent if you know what i mean

  8. Memas says:

got to fill it with candles. get a black light and some cool posters. get some fish and a few plants. I’m getting relaxed just thinking about it. good luck with that.

try finding a good feng shui book. this is really good to help with creating all types of environments.

try using warm, relaxing colors like green, lavender, yellows, beige, anything that makes you feel good!

remove unnecessary clutter and keep it organized. clutter helps to disrupt the flow of energy.

    hope this helps

i would use tropical colors like baby blue, white. try out the website below. you can also request a catalogue. they have great stuff

  11. summerall05 says:

use no pattern fabric and colors that remind you of an outdoor favorite place, like the beach or hiking, less is more when it comes to relaxing, nothing to over stimulate the brain. a water feature is always nice and lighting at different levels for reading, resting, and natural light as well, that is always a happy maker. best wishes

decorating rooms to be relaxing? I would say really lighting is what makes it relaxing. Get a fish tank and let the bubbles flow, use light colors and have some florescent lighting to kill the harsh white light. Have yourself some calm plants and get a kitten.

  14. redkazoo says:

light muted colors in greens, blues, or beige. Keep the fabrics with solids. Try to mix up the fabrics by using the same color family and then using interesting textures like cottons, then fabric with a nice sheen! Keep all furniture simple and clear of clutter. Add candles for relaxing lighting.

  15. I love Jesus says:

This is what I did- light pastel colors on the wall. Fish aquarium and green plants. Small, tabletop, water fountain as an accent.
    Hope this helps.
    Happy decorating.
    God bless.

  18. phillip w says:

Blue same as in a doctor’s watting room.

  19. Nicole says:

Bedroom lighting should be soothing and calm. Look for lampshades that cast soft, romantic light in your room or use low wattage bulbs. Have a puffy feather mattress for the bed, some nice patterned sheets, and add a throw. Also add some candles and aromatherapy.

  20. HA! HA! HA! hilarious... says:

I would go with simple solid colors and not many prints or patterns. Go with soft colors or mellow colors like cream, white, light blue, pink, light brown, and a green too. Personally i like to relax just by having a orderly room. Try it!

  21. Pamela says:

Earth colors, tans, warm greens, or slate blues are very soothing and relaxing. Plants and soft lighting also add warmth and are relaxing. Also candles, or diffuser sticks in warm scents like vanilla, or ocean scents.

  22. TristanVR says:

Rooms with red or orange colors tend to stimulate the mind. This is the opposite of relaxing. I would go with a cooler color and very subtle colors.
Add a fish tank or waterfall feature. The light sound of water is relaxing.
    Get comfortable furniture.
Choose lighting that is indirect and not harsh.
Artwork should be smooth and not gaudy.

  23. Heather T says:

i think you should paint it a plain color of light pink.Room it put 1 beanbag and 1 table and a book shelf.
the furniture color i would say like a cream. Thats what i would do.

  24. chris-69@sbcglobal.net says:

i think soft colors are relaxing, like mauve or even earth tones, big soft throw pillows, nice rugs of different sizes, some different soft scented candles and pictures of nature, i dunno, i am not good at this but i do love relaxing rooms where u can read or chat or lay down and watch a good movie!! i love mirrors too in any room

  25. jimi m says:

a really neat green or a soothing blue, also keep it minimal on furniture( the more furniture, the more hectic)… use small lamps for lighting instead of an overhead light(which is a no no)… get a meditation bench(20 to 50 bucks) and practice your breathing while keeping ur back strait, it has worked wonders for me

  26. Whitney S says:

    Blue, smooth lines, relaxing images.

  27. amanda k says:

A light colour, preferably blue. Its soothing. And is very pretty.
    Maybe with a white trim.

  28. Debbzii says:

A deep blue is always relaxing, but not too much always you will feel sad.

  29. Screen Siren says:

I know what you mean, sometimes no matter how quiet the house is if the room isn’t visually relaxing you can never really settle down.

    Try this link.

    Have fun!

I would decorate it while drinking beer. I would definitely be relaxed.

If you want the atmosphere to be relaxing, I would go with soft light colors (but I would still drink the beer).

If you want space that provides a soothing, mind freeing experience, I would only furnish the room with a nice chair and stereo with headphones. Nothing else. The room would have pleasing soft colors, a comfortable place to sit, and soothing music. There would be no distractions or clutter. It would afford a true opportunity to relax and free the mind.

And of course, I would drink beer while relaxing and listening to music.

  32. Ash Marie says:

a light color would be good like white, yellow, soft pink, soft green. Maybe have candles all around, lots of light, lots of lotions, some pillows and chairs around your room. lamps on the ceiling.

  33. James C says:

It’s a proven fact that when you look at red and yellow tones it speeds up your heart rate and when you look at cool tones like blue and green it slows it down and makes you more relaxed. Browns are suppose to be more relaxing as well. Hope I was of some help!

  34. _Constance<3 says:

I’d have like a satin turquoise comforter. White walls. Shelves on the wall with lit canddles. and island mural on the mall.

  35. chelseaSAURUS says:

My room is really relaxing, but on a camera, it looks weird, and really big, I have a really small closed space, I can show my room, oh and by the way sorry my bed is reeaally messy I just woke up because I couldn’t sleep, and the net thing on my bed, is like that because my cat kept playing with it, and I just changed my curtains, it was in the way. x]

Don’t mind my tv and computer being on. x] Oh and someone messed with my bottom shelf with all my perfumes, and hand/face products and I was too lazy to fix it. x]

    (From my bedroom door. x])

    (again, different angle)

(Around my computer, and my back wall, btw that thinkg peeping out is a painting x] I had another one next to it, but it feel and it cracked its frame, so I moved that one over, thats why its so small that area)

(bedroom door, closet, and my tv)

I think my room is really cosy, I also usually have a plant where that white thing is under my shelf, but I haven’t found a nice one I like yet, I had really pretty dark purple/hot pink flowers there but they died. ;[

I also usually have candles all over my room, but we’ve had three power outings this month so far and my parents don’t keep candles in the house so they use mine. haha

This is an idea of a simple relaxing zone.

btw I’m only 16, so don’t expect me to have the most mature space.

Once again, sorry my bed is really messy, I move my pillows to the side when I sleep, my bed is usually extreamly neat.
